Baking Soda for hair – Conditioner a Must

My last post was about how I started using baking soda to wash my hair instead of shampoo. I tried the ‘no poo’ method to see how it will work.

Well, let’s just say baking soda is wonderful! It’s weird using it… after 2 months, I still haven’t gotten used to the feeling on my scalp! But I haven’t touched shampoo in 2 months!!!!! Can you believe that? My hair is perfectly fine, my scalp is clean, and in spite of having an oily scalp… it doesn’t stink!
I work out every day and still need to wash my hair only once in 3-4 days!
Shampoos

Ok, all that was its effect on the scalp – When it comes to the hair, it’s a slightly different story. I wouldn’t suggest that you go totally no poo… Because your hair needs conditioning!  Like I said in my last post, ‘hair needs its protection’. My long hair cannot survive the heat, dust and sweat without a good conditioner. Baking Soda cleans, but it also kind of dries your hair as it removes the oil along with the dirt and greasiness.

If you have dry hair, after you clean your scalp with the baking soda, use the left over product – very diluted on your hair. And always condition
